"Trail Talk" was voted by the club to be the name of the newsletter, in February. The first edition, with the new name, was published in March 1997. The name was submitted by Jim Burns.

Looks like a bunch of miner to me!
Bill Williams Trail led by "El Supremo"
30 vehicles lead by Gene Hobday, tail gunner Ellis Bignell,
and Bob Miller as the middleman.
After about 6 hours and 80 miles later, they returned home
where "El Supremo" quickly downed a six pack and had a nervous
breakdown.
