Bottom of Grand Canyon

This trip is very easy and can be done in almost any 4 wheel drive such as your pickup truck or fancy Cherokee. The hardest part is traveling thru the creek bed that is only 4 to 6 inches deep and you are in and out for the last mile before the river.
This is a 20 mile road that takes you thru some beautiful country all the way down to the Colorado River starting at 5000 feet and going down to the river at 1500 feet.  Huge cliffs and I hope lots of flowers. Its about 95 miles to Peach Springs from the start at Terribles . Air down is recommended but not required , the road is maintained but its still has wash board. We will have lunch at the river. Please bring bug spray ,we may or may not have bugs.
Everyone must buy a Indian permit to drive on the road it is sold at 887 Hwy.66 suite B Game and Fish and cost $16.27 per person. Passes are purchased by individual’s when you arrive at Peach Springs. Car pooling is advised. We will take exit 53 in Kingman and stay on route 66  and E Andy Devine Ave. travel past the airport for about 47 miles to Peach Springs.
The run is April 24 at 8am at Terrible s Chevron across from loves on 95 Hwy. and  I40 .
On the way back we will be on our own once we get back to Peach Springs. We will be stopping on our way back at Hackberry antique gas station on route 66 to take a look around.
We may have to break into groups to start if we have a large turn out so we don’t hold up other drivers on the freeway.
This is one of the only ways to the bottom of the canyon for 200 miles and it is used to pull rafters out after their journey down river.
