This run goes to the Colorado river in the bottom of the Grand Canyon. We will travel to Kingman and take the old Route 66 road and travel about 35 miles to a small Indian village called Peach Springs. At this point we will purchase a pass to travel on a road that is about 19 miles to the river at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. This road is controlled by the Dept. of game and fish and has a charge of $16.25 per person for the pass. This is a beautiful drive very scenic. We will have lunch at the river. Bring a bug repellent , as the bugs can be bad at times. This is a run most people have never heard of and is well worth the time and money. Very easy maintained road that you can take a 2 wheel drive pickup on with no problems.
Peach springs is at 4700 ft and the base at the river is 1700 ft. We will be between towering rock cliffs most of the way down.
Ladell Olsen and Donnie Barton will also be run leaders on my run to Peach Springs and the Grand Canyon.
